Do you have any other pets, like cats or dogs that roam freely throughout the house? If so, try to keep them out of that part of the house.

I haven't had any luck finding my escapee, but there's still hope. I found a forum on Kingsnake.com that had alot of ideas and rescue stories. I don't like their board set up (not easy to read all the responses like here) but here's the url: http://forum.kingsnake.com/escape/

I found my guy

I recently lost my normal male, and luckily he decided to find me. He was missing for 2 days, and Luckily he decided to come out from behind the fridge to see what my roommate was making for lunch! Good thing my roommate is not bothered by the snakes at all! I also had my large female escape one time, and I found her the next day behind my computer hanging on to the back of the monitor where it was warm. You may want to check around any electronics, or heater vents where your snake can stay warm. Good luck to you! -Don

yes!!!!!!!!!

I do have cats and dogs!!!Do u have any more ideas on finding my lil guy.Ive looked everyware!BTW will he go down a heat vent?

Here's a post a made on Kingsnake a while back.

Also, that thing about electronics attracting snakes is true. Check around you computer (and inside for that matter), around your VCR, your TV set, your stereo, behind your fridge, under your microwave, anywhere you see an electronic device that gives off warmth and vibrations.

One more thing, the moment you find your snake missing (if it ever happens again, which I guarantee it will), immediately put your head, ear side on the floor, looking sideways, and do a 720 degree rotation looking for any slight movement (yes I agree you'll look goofy doing this, but hey, we're talking about a lost snake here). Do this slow. Sometimes you'll find your snake immediately crawling down, or up to some place if the escape was recent. Snakes almost always head downward the moment they're out.

Hope this helps.

I think I have heard of people finding there lost snakes a little longer than a month, has it been pretty warm there? Just look EVERYWHERE where some heat can come off of. I dont know much about traps but what you are doing sounds about right. Good luck!!!

thats were my hatchling corn was i lost if for 2 mounts and i never did check my plants he lived of the water from the plants i guess

There's still hope! We found our little 02 amel this weekend, she'd been gone 2 1/2 months. She was thin, but not emaciated, and thirsty. And cold! We think the reason she came out was that we turned the cooler on Friday and the house got colder all of a sudden. We were surprised to find her alive as we have our 2 dogs and 2 cats roaming freely (when we first discovered she had escaped we kept them out while we searched). She's eaten 2 tiny pinkies without problems now and is happily curled up over the heat mat in her tank.

I am really glad to hear that!

Don't worry! My 6mo. corn was gone for 3 months! (This was in a large school) He was finally found in April at the other end of the school sunning himself, very thirsty and hungry. And to the delight of many teachers not so happy that the "slimy thing" :D was loose.
