ALL of my kings and corns are kept on newspaper. The only snakes I have that are on a natural substrate are my BCI and BP. Everything else is on newspaper, and I have never had an issue outside of my snakes occasionally looking a little "dingy" from the ink if they spill their water dish...
Just make sure the paper towels have no ink on them! Plain white ones only, the ink from paper towels are not the same as ink on newspaper. I use plain white paper towels, it looks nice cause the snake is really vivid on the white ground... and of course its CHEAP!
