Heh... I can assure you that neither parents have any "hibird" blood in them. Well, I can personally vouge for the mother, as she is a 5th generation of my foundation line, and I am kinda inclined to take Carol respectfully at her word when she tells me the same about the father
Now that I think about it, I don't know why I linked "low saddle count" and "emoryi" together in my mind last night (must have been a hard day at work yesterday... I was thinking about that on the way to work (an example of how my mind runs rampid in a quiet car) since the 2 are contradictory.
I will definitely be keeping that little male, as well as a few of the others. The mother came from my "psuedo candycane" female, and has a reduced ground coloring... but not THAT much. The father has some great peach coloring for a hypo lav, so I definitely didn't expect to see so little ground color in ANY of the babies. Then the whole pattern/color of this little guy threw me off completely.
Either way, I produced this adorable, if not interesting, little boy (as well as 19 others), found out the hypo lav was het for amel, and had a 100% successful hatching, and every hatchling ate wonderfully without any coaxing. WOO HOO!!!
