Shiney/Glowing Corn eyes?

My pics are turning out grt, the only thing is my corns eyes are glowing/shiney.
Is it the flash doing this or something else?

TIA,

That could either be the flash of the camera or the light from another source shining on at a different angle. I've noticed that because most snakes are creptuscular/nocturnal, there eyes will shine when light is shined on them just like cat eyes do. :)

Nocturnal animals have a layer of shiny membrane in their eye. It helps the nerves in their eye see better in low light conditions because it will sense it once then the light is reflected and it senses it again so it almost doubles the amount of light seen by the nocturnal animal. I'm not so sure if all have that layer though I'm kind of guessing here I know sharks have that layer though :) I'm not so land animal savy lol.

OMGosh thank you guys for your replies. I haven't tried taking pics w/ out the flash yet. Just fed last night, so hoping to get some soon.

TA! :)
