Dissapearing Shed?

Ok this is really really wierd. My snakes eyes were very very cloudy this morning. The are now clear. I can't find the shed anywhere, I even sifted through the brand new zoomed bedding. Has anyone else had this problem? What the heck happened. You be detective and tell me lol. The shed is nowhere to be found.

Oh ok cool thanks. I never knew that, I don't remeber this ever happening before wierd... ok thanks for the info.

I agree, they usually look all dull and cloudy-eyed for a day or 2, then they will clear up again for about 3 days before they actually shed. I would mist your tank with water or similar to increase the humidity from now until he sheds, this helps them.

I heard that misting them can be bad but I have a water dish in there big enough for him to fit into. I have also created a trick I don't know if anyone else uses it but if you have and undertank heater you can put the water bowl in the part of the enclosure that is ontop of it. It cause the water to evaporate much more quickly. You can get the cage to a point where it starts to basicly rain just drips of condensation on the walls and roof lol. I found this out by accident when I left the water bowl on top of it. It doesn't work as well on tanks or whatever you use that have large mesh tops to them. It does raise the humidity quite a bit in them. You just need to keep an eye on how much humidity it is creating and not accidently make it rain lol. If you put it on the pad for the right amount of time my trick works pretty well.

Moist hide! :D

Wow thats pretty awesome and a great idea :). Do you put those in their enclosures and, what type of plants are you using?

I've never heard of misting being bad for the snake. I mist in the winter because even with all the rain here it is dry. I don't drench just a mist every day or two. Mine have big water dishes they can also get in if need be.
Also putting the water dish over the UTH you could get snake soup, snakes like to drink but I don't think they would like hot water.
I also have to say all snakes are different in their shedding time table I have one that starts turning blue he is blue for about 10-14 days goes clear for 48-72 hours before he sheds. So take all times with variables because your snake may not act like someone elses. Just my opinion, susang

Thanks for letting me know about the clearing of the eyes guys. Its weird I never remember it happening. He shed today looks all nice and shiny and he shed in one complete piece the shed looks pretty cool and my snake seems happy now :).
