Feeding? In or out of vivarium?

Tonite is going to be feeding night and I am wondering what everybody suggests. I have a reptibark substrate in the viv. Should I feed him in his own home, or take him out for a bite to eat. Thanks for looking.

As Lennycorn said you will want to feed out side the viv.Not only for the choking hazard of the substrate also because if you feed in side the viv,the snake will start to associate your hand with food and may eventually strike.

I use reptibark too and the first time I fed my corn, I put down a large piece of cardboard with the f/t mouse on top of it. I thought of this as being smart, but before the mouse was completely down, he was completely off the cardboard and could have easily take down a chunk of bark with it. It's much smarter to feed outside of the cage.

I took everyone's advice and used a plastic container for the snake to eat in. That was bar none, one of the neatest things we have ever seen. He attacked the pinkie as soon as I put it in the container. Then gulped it down in no time. Thanks everybody for your time it was very much appreciated.

Ya, watching a snake eat is thrilling every time eh?

Another thought re: Feeding in a seperate container:
With pinkies it doesn't make much of a mess but when the prey starts getting bigger, like medium rats and large mice, the juices start flying all over and they smell. I feed all my guys in a tub with newspaper on the bottom. (keep your old phone books. They are perfect for this.) The newspaper absorbs the juice/blood and prevents the snake from getting covered in it. A separate container will keep the mice and rat blood and such out of the viv and keep the viv cleaner too. Just FYI for future reference.
