hi everyone sev has now had misty eyes for two days and very white skin, how long untill he will shed?(this will be the first since i bought him ) and how can i make it easier on him? He ate two medium pinkies friday afternoon then his yes went misty and are still! is he o.k

Snakes usually stay "blue" for 8-10 days, and then go "clear." They look like they have shed, but you can't find the shed. After the snake clears, it generally sheds somewhere from 12-48 hours later. Mine tend to shed in less than 24 hours after turning clear. Your snake will most likely be very reclusive during the blue phase. Once it clears, it will come out and roam the viv. It will probably be hungry from missing meals while it is blue. Some snakes eat while blue- others refuse. If you don't have another snake to feed the refused item to, you end up throwing it away. It doesn't hurt a healthy snake to miss a meal while blue. (If I have already thawed the prey out, then get the snake out and discover it is blue, I go ahead and give it a chance to eat. Some do, some don't.)

You may want to just see what happens for the first shed. Here are some things that could make him more comfortable. http://tinyurl.com/3ahp25

After the snake sheds, check to make sure all the old skin has come off, especially the eyecaps and tail tip. If the shed is incomplete, here is what to do: http://tinyurl.com/2uco2o

Good luck!

As they get older they can shed for longer. One of my adult corns will go into shed for about 3 weeks.
