water dishes?

Read quite a bit about providing an "untippable water dish big enough for the snake to soak in". Is this really practiced? What do most people recommend that a 4 to 6 foot adult snake can fit in? Seems like it would have to be a pretty big dish.

I use a large ice cream tub with the top cut off for my 4 foot 7 anery male. It's pretty big. Makes the whole cage look beautiful, too... LOL

Its easy because a 6 foot corn can roll itself into a very small ball. But I use large dishes although most don't have one large enough to soak in fully, but I have yet to see any of my corns soak even once. So I don't really worry about it. But some people do have big soak fans for snakes and they could use small kitten cat litter pans, or larger dog food dishes.

i`m planning on a large dog bowl when chione reaches that sort of size.. for now we have 2 small bowls- one at either end, to provide both drinking water and humidty via evapouration, mostly from the bowl in the hot end of the tank.

I used to use small tupperware containers, but i found out that jake (my snake) can tip it over quite easy. I then went to superstore and bought a glass rectangular bowl about 3/4 a foot in length. This afternoon, i decided to switch to a small tupperware dish again. Jake can easily tip it over, so i filled the substrate to the rim. Many people say that the snake needs to soak occasionally, but i have never seen jake do that. Every 2 days, i give Jake a swim in the tub. He didn't like it at first, but now he dosn't mind it. Hope i could be of some help!
