Does the UTH actually go under the viv? (stupid question probably, but the package says it can be put on the side as well) And do you stick it on with the adhesive or just sit the viv on it? Thanks
 
It goes underneath, at one end. I stick mine on, but the adhesive doesn't last forever. I think some people mount them to tiles and then set the viv on that.

I stuck mine on right under the tank and hooked it up to a thermostat so that it doesn't get too hot. Works like a charm ^^
