Bella rocks!
I went to a reptile store in a neighboring city and saw something slightly worrisom.
The store had 2 adult cornsnakes, 1 Ball python, and 1 Red-tailed Boa (bigger than the rest) housed together. They were all snuggeled against one another. It's one thing to house multiple snakes of the same species together, but to house different species together seems all wrong to me. I'm not sure about pythons, but I know that red-tailed boas require much warmer temps and higher humidity than corns...so it's definitely not a good situation.
I questioned the owner about the housing situation for these particular snakes and he said that they all get along just fine. I asked him about signs of stress..refusing to eat.dehyrdation.. (other things I can't remember) and he said they havent had any signs and that they had been together for some months now...:uhoh:
But there's hypocracy in what he shared with me. He also said that a Baby Corn Snake that refused to eat..finally attempted to swallow a sick baby ball python!! Obviously the snake had an appetite..but to house a sick snake with others isn't the brightest idea either. Well..I won't be purchasing snakes from there..
My heart went out to all of them..but due to my bias..I wanted to snatch the corns and run!
