this snake lives under the house right under the front door. his not scared of people if i even come near the door he pops his head.and came all the way out. and i wasn't about to pick this one up. around the place i know we have Deadly snakes like cotton mouths, copper head, rattle snakes and others and since i didnt know what he was and he looked a little mad. i just took some photos and walked away

I don't think he's any of the venomous snakes, but I don't know what he is either. Someone will, though.

From your pics, I am guessing it is an eastern coachwhip

Not venomous, but has a nasty temper and loves to bite.

I have to agree, eastern coachwhip and if you want to see what a bite from one of these guys can do...here it is lol They have sharp little teeth and they are mean. The guy that did this tried for my face a few times before I got him out of the tree :)

woot yeah i don't want a snake on my arm. I guess he will have to pay rent by keeping other critters away. As long as he stays under the house and not in it his good.

Yea, I agree...Eastern Coachwhip. And coachwhips in general are pretty nasty. IMO...one of the most aggressive snakes in North America...venomous or not.

I had a kid bring a juvie coachwhip into the shop for identification, and this sucker bit me easily 20-25 times in the 10 minutes that I handled it. The kid wanted me to try and pop it, but...no way. He didn't want me touching him anywhere, let alone trying to pop the little S.O.B. Nasty little buggers, but really cool snakes.

Definitely, Coachwhips are known corn snake predators.

It sounds like he could probably put the fear of God into your cats regarding snakes. Hmm, I'd still like to experience one, just once.
