brumation/hibernation?

I've had my cornsnake for a couple months now, but I don't really know what to do during their hibernation (I heard some people call it brumation?) So far, I've only turned the night-time lamp off and left on the heat mat, but I'm not sure if I'm doing it right.. Can someone help me on what to do? And should I still handle her frequently?
Oh yahh, and also:
I still feed her weekly with a fuzzy (she acts normally when I feed her)
She spends a lot of her time in the bedding under the water container (at the cool end) and pokes her head out.

Brumation/hibernation is basically only for adult snakes that are going to be bred in the spring. The procedure is to stop all feeding and let the snake's digestive system empty out for 2-3 weeks. Then the lighting is decreased or almost completely eliminated and the temperature is brought down to the about the low 60's F. This is the actual brumation/hibernation and lasts about 2-3 months. The snake is then brought back up to normal temps and lighting for about a week, and feeding is resumed, starting with a small meal. The snake will then be going into it's breeding cycle.

If your snake is eating fuzzies, it sounds like she is still a young snake and should not be brumated. Put her lamp back on and continue to care for her as normal.
