Go Ahead, Make My Day!
I just got a wonderful surprise! While placing a snake back into his regular tank after a breeding attempt, I glanced at the tank below his and...SURPRISE...EGGS! 7 large fertile eggs from my caramel het butter that had already laid her clutch of 9 fertile eggs on April 4th. I hadn't put her with a male since laying, so she must have retained some sperm from the butter I bred her with for her first clutch. Luckily, she had spilled enough water out of her water bowl to make the newspaper substrate I use nice and wet for her to lay the eggs on since there was no nest box with her. This more than makes up for all the slugs I've been getting from some of my other females!
