More evidence as to why I'm disgusted with the human race...

Evidently, Pfahler works for Readers Digest.....

pfft, we wouldn't even have this problem if we'd just send everyone under the age of 16 to the moon.

But some unreasonable people just refuse to see the logic in it.

You're not old enough to complain about kids yet. You're still a kid yourself.

a few weeks ago, at the shelter, a little kid runs up to me. He says:
"ihnehdanadlt"
me: "what?"
him:"ihnehdanadltihnehdanadlt"
me: "slower please?"
him: "I need an adult!"
me:.........

I am an adult! >: (

(he just needed someone up at the front counter to deal with someone dropping off a dog)

And hey, if someone is a decade younger than me, I'm calling them 'kid'.
Then I'm telling them to get off my lawn.

I hate being called "ma'am". I'm 38, but look about ten years younger (hey, like the show!).

And Dale, feel secure in the fact that only people who are insecure and angry about themselves take it out on the innocent. It's actually more proof that our legal system is going down the toilet. Why isn't he suing the ski run for allowing reckless behaviour? Isn't it their job to police the slopes? And heck, they have the money!!

I am 42 and I got carded last night for buying a 6 pack... It made my day lol. I hated people just a little less after that. But yeah, this is a litigation-happy society, though I have noticed it less here in Oregon than when I used to live in San Francisco bay area...

Actually I can confidently say, I know people 16 or younger who are more mature and responcible then people over the age of 16 and 26. Hell actually middle aged and elderly people too.

can't say I know too many 16 year olds. I only know maybe 2 girls in that age group well, and they are freaking awesome. Sometimes I do get high schoolers that come to the shelter because they *have* to do volunteer work for school (or community service) and they are usually a giant pain to be around. And hey, I know some 20 year olds I can't stand to be around because they are so 'young', so age really does have nothing to do with it XD

(seriously, this 20 year old told me I was "lucky I have money" Uh, no, I have a job. "Oh. You're lucky you have a job" I could have punched him! He lives at home and his parents paid for his college! I worked through college, took out a student loan, moved across the country by myself broke! GAHHHHHHH!!!!!!)

Maybe this is just me, but...

YOU ARE SKIING, YOU IDIOT. You will fall. You will collide with other people. You will get hurt. It's a freaking physical activity. You're 60. The kid was 7. You are trusted with a motor vehicle. He is not. To me, it stands to reason that YOU are the one responsible for preventing a collision.

And on that note, how is it that the guy required $75,000 worth of care, DIDN'T make an injury report at the time, and the kid didn't get hurt?

I'm a snowboarder, and people run into you all the time. People, as in, not small children. Maybe this guy should've checked with his doctor before hitting the slopes.

I should now watch where my kids are riding their bikes at...I live in Allentown, where this guy is from. I knew we had jerks around here, but that takes the cake. Wait till I tell Hubby about this tomorrow.

Additionally.....for those of you who want a quick refresher in high school physics:
  1. Force = Mass X Acceleration
  2. Acceleration is the change in velocity divided by the change in time
Now, exactly how much mass and velocity can be contained in an 8 year old child? (And let's compare these numbers to that of a 60 year old, as well.)

I PROPOSE THIS: You know how Reader's Digest has that address for "Send us an amusing anecdote, and we'll publish it!" dealio? You know how they also have a regular "That's Outrageous!" section of the magazine as well?

Well, they have an online form for submissions. I say we send this turd's employer a cut & paste of his very own story as an example of what "outrageous" d-baggery is.

:shrugs:

Disclaimer: I don't endorse spam. I'm sure the owner of this site doesn't either. But I do endorse pointing out jerks being jerks. (And I should know. ;) )

That is a GREAT point that I'm sure will be brought up by this man's lawyer! I have dealt with two lawsuits against me and been threatened by them several times. My dealing with lawsuit lawyers is, they will file a lawsuit against everyone involved... ski slope company, kids, managers, security, medical responders, corporation, insurance company and even manufacturer of the equipment. Why you ask? To try and get them all to settle for less than what the court cost could potentially be. That maximizes the lawyers profit. It sucks for individuals being sued, but it is the price that must be paid in order to make American Lawyers richer.

Do it, Dale. I think that is a hilarious idea! If you post here saying you've done it, I will do it too. I won't bother unless you will, but it you will, I will, too.
