Winter break blessings!

Twang'em into trees!
After four incredibly LOOOO:bang:OOOOOOOOOONG months, winter break is finally here! :dancer: It was quite clear that every teacher yesterday at school wanted to jump for joy, but no one had the energy to even get one foot off of the ground...*ugh* My comparison is that we all feel like wrung out dishrags -- nothing left to give and worn out. As it was, I nearly fell asleep on the way home (thank god someone else was driving!) and when I got home, I got immediately into my flannel pj pants, enormous fuzzy sweatshirt and my favorite fuzzy crew socks. And I was asleep by 8:30 pm. I'm still wearing that couture ensemble, and I plan to for the rest of the day. Maybe I'll shower tomorrow. Maybe. If I feel like it. Or maybe I'll just wait until Jan 6th, the day before we return to school...who knows. Ah, the blessings of winter break!

Happy Holidays, y'all! :santa:

YES! I am so glad break is here! We had exams this past week from Monday thru Thursday and now it is a much needed break for teachers and students. Of course I have a project so it isn't going to be a 100% no homework break but it will due!

We go back the 3rd...you don't go back until the following Monday? That will be a nice long break for you!

Have a great Christmas break! You deserve it!

Yeah! Happy Winter Break!
I just handed in my last final paper, and am looking forward to not doing anything for the next four weeks. I go back in for training (I'm a resident assistant at my school) on the 16th, and back to school on the 22nd.
I plan on:
-reading for pleasure
-watching lots of movies
-playing with the snakies (of course)
-going home to play with the beagle at my parents house (I love my puppy more than anything)
-in general, doing absolutely nothing but laying around in pajamas

w00t!

Kids here don't go back until the 6th and it seems like they have ad so many days off the first part of the year. The semester here doesn't end until Jan 25th, so they take finals that week.

The last two days of school (Thurs. and Fri.) we had a team day (7th grade is separated into 3 teams: Blue, White and Red), so all we did is watch movies... and eat food. It sucks though we come back the 2nd day after New Year's Eve.
At least I have time to get something for my mom, yesterday I ordered this heart shaped box, and it has stuff written in it ($11 for Happy Christmas, Mom!) I usually go to CVS Pharmacy to get her something, but this year I figured she'd want something special, that's not a $5 teddy bear and card...

Tofu hot dogs are nasty.

That's true...I still have schoolwork to do over break, but I'll probably wait til the last minute, as usual. :p Yup, we return on the 7th -- I'm thrilled...and I already got my paycheck, in advance! All of my bills through the 11th are paid already! Woo-hoo! :) Have a good break, too!

My plans: read, finally finish up unpacking from my summer move, prepare for two new lil'snakies I'm getting -- along with massive tank cleaning for all!, 2 dr appts, and basically -- spend as much time in my pjs as possible...:) Have a good one, too! (College days...so awesome!) Enjoy!

It does seem like the kids have had quite a few days off, but half were federal holidays, and the rest were professional development days -- which meant that I worked those days regardless, so I wholeheartedly deserved the other days off! The 2nd quarter for us also ends the 25th -- which the students do have off, so that I can do report cards. :p

I never even got a chance to show my students "The Muppets Christmas Carol" -- I had it set up & everything! But, our assembly performance schedule got changed and I promised the kids: they'll get their movie on the 7th, which will also give me a chance to get my sleepy self back together & prepared for the rest of the week. I love that first week back, though: the kids are usually wiped out & very, very tame. Makes it all so much easier. :)

By the way, tofu absorbs the flavor of whatever you're cooking it with, so maybe cook your tofu hot dogs with some spices & they'll taste better.
