First time refusal....So much for my good streak..

Well I fed my snakes last night..Maize ate like a champ (as always)..When I brought Striker out I noticed he was in blue..It didn't bother me to much because he has eaten in blue once before..I put the mouse in the feeder tank but he showed no interest whatsoever...To be sure I left the thawed mouse in with him over night and had a sheet over him so he could have secrecy..Earlier today I checked again and the mouse was still there..I threw it away and put him back in the tank..sprayed the tank a bit to help raise humidity for his up-coming shed..I know I should try and feed him again in about 3 to 4 days..but I think I should just wait until after he sheds..am I right for doing this? He seems to be just very different right now...usually very active when I pick him up...but last night..he was very..um...calm..which for him is unusual...I know it's all because he is about to shed so I'm not to worried...just wanted to get some input advice about my decisions and make sure I'm on the right page here..

I think you are on the right track.

Lumiya and Caedus were both in blue on the 18th when I attempted to feed them. Both refused. Caedus had never refused a meal before.

They both shed on Christams Eve and both ate right away.

Yep...I'm doing an offtopic on my own topic..lol..only because I don't want to create to many new threads...so I'm just gonna mix this in..

I was watching a video on "ReptileTV.com" about diet and feeding snakes..The guy mentioned that frozen mice lose their vitamin and calcium count when they are frozen..so a vitamin suppliment should be used when feeding your snake..Is this true? I've only been feeding my snakes their weekly mouse..no extra suppliments...Anyone else hear of this or use a suppliment vitamin when feeding?:shrugs::shrugs:

I don't feed anyone intentionally while they are in shed. Some refuse, some don't. They don't always do the same thing. If I notice they are blue before I thaw their food, I just resume feeding on the next scheduled day after the shed. It doesn't hurt anyone who is a regular feeder to miss a meal now and then. But if you only have a couple snakes and don't feed on set days, then it sure doesn't hurt to feed the day they shed, either.

I feel you frustration. Simbi has refused her last two feedings. She was just starting to go blue for the 2nd one so I'm hoping that's it. She's due to eat on Sunday, but I'm planning on waiting until she sheds, unless she starts cruising her viv. Of course, she may shed by then and I'll just feed her on schedule.
