"Serpent Science"
I have noticed that several members have hognose snakes and those that do seem to really love them. I never really payed much attention to them but I now have the opportunity to get a western hognose. We just got one in (work at a petstore) yesterday and I love it. She is 2.5 years old, ~24", and is the most calm snake I have ever held. Store price is $130 but I can have her for $100. Is this a reasonable price? Anyone care to persuade or dissuade me?

As long as she's eating and outwardly healthy, I'd say go for it. Remember they are still considered "rear fanged venomous" by many and the bite (it would have to chew on you to inject anything) can cause an adverse reaction, rare it may be. Female 2+ year old western hognose @ $100.00 sounds reasonable
