SMR SG Corn Snake "Rogue"
I have never done so mostly because I can't find those clear spray bottles for the life of me. dunno why I can't but I can't!

does he need it?

Is he blue? Has he previously had problems shedding? If not, I wouldn't worry about it! If he is blue, and you're trying to raise the humidity a bit, you can just dip your fingers in water and flick it into his viv.

I've never misted my snakes down...but I have to ask: is Rogue having problems with shedding? What is the humidity level in his tank? If anything, and Rogue might really like this as much as my Caramelo & lots of other snakes do, you could add a "moist hide" to Rogue's tank, and then when he feels the desire for extra humidity, he can go to it (kinda like whenever you feel like you have dry skin, and you apply lotion...:) ).

For Caramelo, I took a clay flower pot, chipped out the bottom & soaked it -- then shook off the excess water & placed it upside-down in the aspen, over where Caramelo's UTH would be found. I then let it dry out until I change his water or spot-clean or whatever -- and then I'll soak it down again. It has helped a lot with his shedding & maintaining proper humidity in his tank.

Here's a blurry photo of Caramelo enjoying his "moist hide":

I hope that that helped! :)

no i don't have a moist hide box. he's not blue he just shed but either im seeing things or he has a few slight white spec's on him.. he hides so much that I don't see him hardly at all anymore and he looks like a new snake to me now cuz he was in hiding for so long

BTW he took a full grown adult mouse and kept it down.. I mean a big mouse his 2nd one. :) he's about 2 1/2 to 3 feet now I think I need to measure his viv he is a lil longer than it.

I also need to start feeding him frozen mice. I've been lazy and just buying a mouse and letting him eat that after I "knock it out".

overall I think he's doing well and my folks have come to like him YAY! my mother more so LOL!

cute snake btw Cegninedorf

Thanks, Glock. :) I just wish that Caramelo's face was in focus, and not the wood behind him. :p

What size tank is Rogue in? Maybe it's time to move him up to a new size? Adults need at least 20-gallons...

I don't know what the white flecks would mean. Does it look like scales that are peeling? Caramelo had a problem like that...http://www.cornsnakes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46720&highlight=flaky He doesn't have this problem anymore, thanks to his flower pot. :)

If it's not that, then I'd have to defer to the experts-that-be about the "white flecks"...sorry. :shrugs: If you can, try to post a photo...it'd be nice to see an updated one of Rogue, anyway. :)

i think i have a 40 gal i forget LOL

Oh, well, then -- that's a lovely sized tank! :)

Good for you for keeping up with the hobby...things happen for a reason, don't they? ;) (And yeah for your mom, too!)

I look forward to seeing the photos...

During winter humidity is 20% here.

Not less then 5 minutes ago I decided to mist and he came out right away and started shedding but he stopped halfway adn went back into his hide =\

Mist the tank or add a moist hide. Never directly mist a snake because it can actaully dehydrate them.
