San Diego touring info

The boyfriend and I are headed to San Diego for the weekend... just to get away. I have sometime off of school and work so we decided the "closest far place" to go would be San Diego. We are staying in a hostel right off of Harbor Drive by San Diego Bay, and we have reservations abord the Hornblower for some whalewatching. Other than that, I'm afraid the rest of the trip will be he and I looking at each other crosseyed for 3 days!

I think he found a nice little Irish pub to check out, but does anyone have any good ideas for touristy stuff?

Thanks in advance!!!

Gaslamp district. Trust me; you won't get bored. Six bazillionty restaurants and bars...there's an Irish one there, but I can't remember the name...

No trip to Gaslamp is complete, however, without a trip to Dick's Last Resort. =D

For sure, I being a San Diegan, you shouldn't miss the Gaslamp District. Another fun place to go is Old Town, which you can take the trolly to that and also, Sea Port Village is a nice and relaxing place to go. LOTS of shops and water watching, etc. Have fun....

Well, we hit Coronado already... tons of shops and such are nice, but not when we don't have a ton of $ on hand to go crazy with! Though they did have a spectacular gyro shop there...

Squeaker, we are right in your area! We were thinking about going to the Chula Vista nature reserve in a bit. Hows that for some time killing? I've heard good things about it. We want to go to Sea World on Friday, but we'll see how that goes. I think I'm more interested in seeing wild Humpbacks than Shamu!

Scripps Aquarium in LaJolla, the SD Zoo, House of Blues, besides the other places mentioned..
I too will be in San Diego (my old home town) this weekend..
I have an annual pass to the Zoo and Wild Animal Park.. (but rain??)
