not enough calcium???

these eggs all look good right now,but one has a kinda clear window,which i read is a lack of calcium and vitamins,i think its just because she laid so many.cause i keep her on calcium and vitamin supplements to make sure she gets the right nutrition.i only give her as directed for her species,im afraid if i give her too much,i may poison her.

another thing, some of the eggs that had a claer window,now have a white patch over them.kinda like a scab.

does anyone have this happen to their eggs? if so,does it affect the neonates,or hatching?

Those eggs still look viable, so I would treat them as such. Nature can be very surprising and tolerant when it comes to egg shells. I have a clutch from a first-time breeder that definately shows a lack of calcium in the shells (female fed and supplimented exactly the same as all the others, including clutchmates, and their eggs are just perfect). They are due to hatch any day now. I've actually been able to see the blood vessels develop inside the eggs and what looks like the actual hatchlings.

Thanks for the info Susan, Beanie laid a small batch and one right dap stuck in the middle looked a little off, it's been four days and it looks a little stronger now but I almost pulled it out and then decide to let her stay and see. So maybe she'll be the beauty in the batch! Sam ~~~~~~:~
