here i go again...

so everyone might think I'm the worse owner in the world. since i'm posting again about a MISSING snake in the past month. but i don't deny it and i feel horrible.
so as you all know what my problem is.. my snake is missing. and this time I CANT FIND HIM. its been 3 days now since i lost him. what worries me most is that i think he went down the vent. but i also don't think he would go down there cause i just fed him and the vent is cold, since its metal or something.
does anyone know of any stories of snakes going into the vent?
I've searched high and low in my room, and i'm not too sure if a bottle trap will work. since i feel that my snake is not much of a hunter. should i put bowls of water on the floor? can snake sense water?

ok well snakes WILL seek out food hunters or not when hungry enough as long as your room is warm how big is your snake?
what you should do is get some frozen pinkys mice w/e, and as gross as this sounds I want you to utterly mutilate them so the blood is well exposed this will enhance the smell of the food. put it wherever u think the snake may be hiding most likely set up in more place then one and wait if you miss the first time one dissapears dont get discouraged at least you know your snake is ok, just keep trying until you find him/her remember snakes will seek out any hide dark closed space when under stress truthefully your snake could be anywhere, we lost my boyfriends overnight she ended up right on his headphones clear on the oposit side of the house.

Make sure you check everywhere..any spot that is dark and warm..even if you think it's to small or to high for a snake to get to..try the bottle trap and set water in each room..this way it will at least help ensure the snake's survival until he is found..

You also need to figure out ASAP how the snake keeps escaping, no matter how many times you bring him back to his tank after finding him he will only get out even faster now. Even if you should decide to get another snake you NEED to figure out how they're escaping first.

3 days isn't much, I wouldn't worry too much yet. People here have had corn snakes show up after being gone for MONTHS.

No snake escapes here since I got my first couple corns, but I did have a nice little scare yesterday when one of my tarantulas escaped =) Luckily I found him on the shelf not too far from his viv. Looks like the bugger actually pushed to top off his acrylic cube, which I didn't think was possible.
