Precious Pink

I picked up a day old live pink to see if Vern would accept that (she's refused about everything else).

$1.79

ONE pink. $1.79. $1.88 including tax.

In case you're curious, that works out to $50.75 per OUNCE! In comparison, a quick check of a random internet site that claims to have current Precious Metal prices, Silver is currently going for $16.2/oz. Yeah, yeah... I don't know if that's a troy ounce or imperial ounce or whatever... don't spoil my gripe! Anyway, at that price, one could buy 3.13 ounces of pure silver for the price of 1 ounce of pinky.

At least it's cheaper than gold.

If she eats it, you could always dry the resulting poop, varnish it, and see what it'll fetch on e-bay?

I'd be more likely to compare it to the price of filet from, say, Omaha Steaks (who annoyingly always send me catalogs and tell me I am pre-approved for credit! So far, I've resisted...) at 2.62/ounce. Steak is cheap compared to mice! I should buy some!

That's a great justification if I ever heard one! At 5% of the cost, who could resist getting a nice Filet?

It also makes a wonderful argument for 'rolling my own' too!

I could never roll my own mice and especially not rats. No way!! I could grow my own chicken eggs- that's about it.
