Cold python, need advice

It was bound to happen sooner or later, I'm just glad it was my ball python and not a small corn. I went and left my ball enclouser open last night, just walked in the snake room to discover it empty. I found her under the bed, very cold and unable to move. The back room gets quite cold, especially on the floor and we had a cold front come in last night. I figure it is in the mid 50's on the floor.
I coiled Sparkle into her warm hide but I'm wondering if I should do anything else? I could put her on a heating pad but I don't want to hurt her by warming too quickly. Whats the best way to rewarm a very cold ball?

If it were me, I would just leave her in her warm hide...she'll warm up slowly. =)

I bet she'll be just fine. If it were me, I might carry her around inside my shirt till she warmed up.

There was a thread a while ago that had a breeder's instructions for warming snakes that became torpid during shipping- I'll see if I can find it.

I agree. I think I killed my first hatchling partly by cooling her down to quickly after she spent a whole day on a UPS truck in super-hot summer weather. Slow and easy is the trick....

Kathy Love says watch her like a hawk for a couple weeks as chilled BPs are susceptable to RI.

I figures letting her warm slow was best. She is moving around her cage now some, poor thing
I knew about the RI possibility, I hope she doesn't get sick, she's been the best ball I've ever had.

I had this same thing a few weeks ago.

How old is the snake? If its fully grown i cant see there been any problems. If its a smaller one just monitor it.

She's around a yr old and probably close to three ft.
