I feel like an old man here, thank goodness my girlfriend is here too!!
Well anyways I am so glad for all the help from people of all ages!!!!!
I don't know how much people really want to help me do some breeding
in Ontario Canada?? Very competitive business????
Oh well I am not looking to be big time numbers but would like to make a breed of my own (probable not)!!!
I am disabled and a little income of like $1500 a year would be a HUGE, HUGE, thing to me!!!!!
Bill

I'm sure how to tell you to do research on this but I doubt very much you would make $1500 a year for a long time. Someone on here just talked about it and several people on here said they still don't make money.
I raise my own feeders but it is far from a savings as the mice and rats have to eat. It's either feast or famon with them also I have a lot of the right size to feed or I have none. I don't know how close you are to breeding your snakes but there is so much to consider. Biggest of all is there a market for your snakes.

If you have some higher end stuff/and or hets, plus the basic amel/anery/snow/motley stuff, you can make some money.

Based on my sales and what I've spent money on for last year (feeders, new snakes, etc) I was plus for the year.

So what breeds do I need to buy?? Have to remember I am in Canada and I am sure the choices are far less! I don't really care if it takes ten years to get there but would like for my pets to pay there own way!
I am sure I will need a lot of help to get there!

Help me if you want? I have bipolar disorder and so does my girlfriend but pets seem ok for us, hell we probable love them too much~

The cheapest way to get started is to get as many as possible of normals with at least 3 or more hets in each one. Then match them up and start keeping back anything interesting.

If you can't find a good enough selection in Canada, you can go to one of the border cities in the US and have whatever you want shipped to you there. Just get enough to make it worth your time and effort to get there. Late summer or early fall is the time for best selection and best prices.

Rich used to do a wholesale deal every summer where he would sell a bunch of normals and throw in some various morphs too. You had to buy a lot of them, but the price was very reasonable, and when you started breeding, almost anything could come out. But I don't know if he still does that anymore.

I dont think your Bipolar will be too much of a problem. I have acute bipolar 1 and all my snakes and snake i have had in the past have all had perfect lives.

If anything they will probably get better lives if you are like me and get the obsessive compulsive side.

im in canada too down by london area and theres plenty of variety in canada as well i only have a normal but christina m in strathroy has a nice selection of her own that she breeds

Don't worry... your snakes won't know you have BP... they stick their tongue out at everyone.

Rock on and enjoy!

I too was diagnoised as being bipolar (is there some connection here with obsessive snake owners?) So don't worry it shouldn't be a problem at all ;)

I don't have bipolar, heck I am just plain crazy accroding to a few folks around here.. There is more in Canada than you realize.. Hanney's Corns might be a good stsrt, and she lives in Ontario..

Regards.. Tim of T and J
