A little more info would be helpful. Such as age, did it regurge,where it came from, cb, ch, wc, etc. BPs are still imported with regularity, so it could be a parasite issue. The absolute truth will never be known unless a necropsy is done. Hopefully if your friend has any other reptiles proper quarantine was done.
