Is my cage escape proof?

you should be fine with that for a hatchling, just remember they will out grow that rather quickly.
 
Those are great, though pricey IMO. Just make sure that whenever you close that little window on top that you hear both sides 'snap'..
They do check for you if you don't. And once they can nudge it one time, they will forever check it often..
 
I also agree these are fine. I used one myself for a little while.

You can however find cheaper enclosures that are slightly bigger, I'm sure the Walmart's in america would have these:

That is a small 200mL (only pic I could find), I use a 7L for my 2 week old snake.
 
Thanks for the help. I'll be sure to snap it shut each time I leave it. I don't have my snake yet -- It'll be my first. I'm sure the forum will be lots of help. Thanks again.
 
A soldering gun works great for making holes in plastic containers!
Just a friendly tip, less dangerous than using a knife I'd think to.
 
Personally I'd hate to see what I could do with a soldering iron, especially if I forgot to turn it off, so I've got a couple of retired screwdrivers that I just heat the tip up over the gas stove for melting holes. :)
 
Hey, It's the only way I can make working with a soldering iron even the least bit fun after using one for non-fun reasons for so long. And they can def leave you with a nasty burn!
