Hey guys,
I was wondering about sexing... I know the 2 methods, and have seen kathy love's video on it, but have never had someone actually show me how so Im not exactly comfortable with doing either probing or popping on my own.
My question was at reptile expos (like the one thats going to be down in MD this next weekend), can you get your snake sexed? Or would someone be able to show me how by demonstrating on another snake while Im there?

If they would do it for me there, how do you usually transport your snakes there/take care of em while youre at the show?
 
I have heard of people sexing a snake at a show. Te only shows I've been to wouldn't allow anyone after show opened to bring in pets/reptiles. I would look at the vendor list and see if you can contact someone, ask them if they can help you.
 
You would have to contact a vendor before the show. I'd be willing to do it for you, but we won't be down to a show until the summer. Most shows also don't allow you to bring outside animals in.
 
As Stephanie said, most don't allow outside animals in. But you could have it demonstrated to you and maybe even practice on the vendor's snakes if they were willing to let you.

everyone else- maybe someone would let me try on thiers, or demonstrate it. :shrugs:
It really would make sense for them not to allow outside animals in though, so I wont bring mine... just hope someone's willing to help out a n00bie

could you not ask your vet, I'm taking sally back to mine as the vet wants to double check as the other vet took most of the probes with him and she was worried that the probe may of been too big, and she has offered to teach me to do it. Could be worth asking
 
I am assuming you are talking about the show in havre de grace. I will not have a table, but depending on what time you will be there I could meet you and take you to a one of the vendors I know so they can show you how to do it. Yea havre de grace you cant bring outside animals in.
 
Thats excetly what im talking about. That would be awesome... I was planning on going in the morning and spending as much time there as possible. What time were you going?

Hey if you're going to be sexing snakes, I should be getting one tomorrow that Fluff's husband Doc is bringing in for me, and while it doesn't really matter to me, I wouldn't mind knowing the sex.
