odd question...any bird AND snake owners out there?

i just got another snake, and it's viv, is positioned about 1.5 feet away from my bird cage, which houses 3 budgies. this is the lid i have for my snakes viv:

i was just wondering (i know, odd question), but is there any possibility that my birds will bother the snake? as in, their smell? maybe their dander swirling around the viv? obviously they are NEVER going to be out together, but still, i don't want to drive my snake crazy by forcing him to breathe in budgie all day!

if any of you can help with this strange question, it is greatly appreciated!

If your budgies make as much mess as our 'teil, I personally wouldn't want another pet's set up quite that close. I'm not aware of specific problems but given that a snake has only one functioning lung. I wouldn't want it to have the feathers and powder from a bird to cope with in it's viv.

Birds completely mess up my sinuses - I also wouldn't take the risk of having a bird near my snake - Rather safe than sorry I think.

O and to answer the question - We do have an african grey and a cockatiel at home - (o how I suffer).lol - bloody allergies.

While I do keep 3 birds in the same room as two of my snakes they're not so close.
Birds do produce a lot of dust and I agree with the others that it would probally not be a smooth move.
Not to mention what's to stop the keeters from landing all over the cage when they're out and driving your snakey wild with bird scent?

And I don't live with them all anymore but at my parents we had 21 birds, mostly cockatiels, the african grey, 1 conure, the one lovebird and the one parakeet. I took the lovebird and the parakeet with me when I moved and eventually I will be inheriting the grey. I miss him :(

nice bird collections guys! right now i have 4 budgies and 1 cockatiel. i never knew tiels could pack so much punch - personality wise. it seems to be best to move my snake viv, so that i shall do! you're right, definitely don't want to drive snakey wild with bird scent! although i don't let my birds out in the room that the snakes are in, they come downstairs with me. but they ARE flighted, so if they wanted to they could for sure leap off my finger and go for a fly around the room
