Weigh in day for Maize and Striker...

Maize411

Hooked for life!!
Well today was weigh in day..Maize came out weighing 85 grams...She's over a year old so I don't fully know if this is good for her age or not..I checked the munson plan and i have been feeding her accordingly...Striker came in at 180 grams..checking the munson plan it stated he should be able to take a 24 to 30 gram adult mouse with no problem..yet when I fed him the adult mice that is what had started his regurge problem which right now he is on a good road to recovery with some nutri bac and 1 of Maize's mice each week...I know after 6 successful feedings I should resume to feed him the adult mouse..but truth is..I'm actually scared to..I'm thinking on his fifth feeding I'm gonna take one of the full grown mice and cut it in half..though this will not by any means be pretty or pleasant..I want to see if he can keep it down..am I good for doing this? and how do the weights sound for Maize and Striker? Well...I guess it's kind of hard to tell if striker is weighing good or not cause I don't know his age...but as for Maize..is 85 grams okay for a snake a little over a year old? Thanks guys..:shrugs:

As long as they look healthy and are eating good, that is all that matters. Both Maize and Striker are gorgeous!

Our Cindy is 70g @ 10mths if that helps. Little Dani @ 10mths is 135g YIKES! Cindy (F) is shorter & Dani (M) is longer. But they are healthy & look grt.
As far as the regurge I know how you feel, having 2 regurge & 1 go back to back on me. NOFUN! I still give Cindy 2 small fuzzies & she is happy. I tried to give her a large fuzzie & she refuses. Not sure about cuting up & giving half. I don't see why not if you don't have anything smaller. Keep using the nutribac. That's where I went wrong 'I think' I stopped doin' it & she regurged again.

Sounds like your guys are doing grt! :)

I would think the way to go would be to feed Striker an intermediate size between adult and what you are feeding your other one and then work him gradually up to adult.
My adult corns eat medium size rats with no problems, what I will do is weigh one of the rats when I feed again. My smallest adult corn must weigh in the region of 550 grams with my oldest female about 800 grams, these are just guestimates, I guess i need to do some weighing.

Ciao

Okay so I weighed my snakes again today...The last time I weighed them was in Feb. so I accidentally skipped March...but basiclly here are the results...

Maize now weighs 131g
Striker now weighs 218g
Kunai weighs 14g (soo cute)

so in a month and a half time both snakes have put on quite a good amount..Striker is still having problems with adult mice..He didn't even eat the last one and I'm thinking it might be cause the food appears to be big for him..but I dunno..I'll have to see what happens..I'm just so happy that all my snakes are growing so well :0)

Okay...so yea...it's been quite some time since I weighed my snakes...Wow..I really gotta get on the ball more about this...well here is the current update as of tonight:

Artemis weighed in at 37g
Striker weighed in at 382g
and Maize weighed in at 186g

I am really going to try to keep the weigh ins a little bit more monthly instead of...yearly...lol...thank you all for checking out how their doing :0)

I haven't weighed Striker or Artemis in quite some time but I just weighed Maize a few nights ago and she is at 282 grams!!!! Looks like she might make the breeding mark by summer :) I will let you all know how Striker and Artemis are doing as soon as I check up on their weight :)
