Ok right spot now?
Ok thanks for all replies in general chit chat but moved it here to right spot.
Ok now I will show how little photography knowledge I actually have, and its very limited!!!! I still plan on buying a DSLR camera and taking a coarse! Now I can wait for a good sale and maybe learn a little more on my own to help me make a better decision?
I presently own a Sony Cyber-shot W5. I haven't read the manual since I bought it 2-3 years ago. I was only trying to take pictures of friends, cars, bikes, and they were OK at best. Well I read and read and figured out how to get it back to original out of the box settings. Now I have tried taking some pictures in the house of whatever. Figured out how to adjust settings enough to take a picture that was actually sized right to post on forum.
I never realized this camera had a manual setting, not that I would have known or still know what to do with it or had any reason to use it up until now (want to try to get somewhat decent shots of corns).
To start it says: 38-114mm equivalent to 35mm photo?
It has a full manual mode for shutter speeds 30-1/1000 (manual) 46 steps and aperture range F2.8-F5.6 (W) F5.2-F10.0 (T)
Ok so this is all strange to me so would there be a good point to start playing? Shutter speed? Aperture range? Or both??
I know this might be impossible to answer but should I start with one setting and then move the other up or down and then move the first setting and then go up and down?? I do understand shutter is length of time shutter open and aperture is size of hole.
Really just looking for a good start point to beginning playing???? I do have a tripod as well as I read some settings may need to use one?
I know probably asking for way to much!!! I just want a starting point and which setting to play with first or which order to use settings in?
Thanks for any and all help!!
