Hi
Im thinking of getting an exo terra tank for my corn, any comments about them ie. quality or negative points with them?
Also which is the best size to get so my corn will be ok to live in at full size
cheers

I don't know anything about exo terra tanks. I have one corn in a tank that is 30 inches by 24 inches then it is really tall. This one likes to climb.

My other corn, which is not full grown yet is in a 30 gal long. Which is 36 inches x 12 inches.

They seem to do fine in these. I also have two 20 gal long's. They are 30 inches x 12 inches.

Hope this helps

I have an exo terra and I really like it... but it feels 2 small (18 x 18 x 24 tall) So I am planning on selling it. Besides I really like my rack. It is a shame you don't find the longer ones in the stores. Would also be better if the latch mechanism felt more sound. A larger one would make an awesome display tank for a ATB. I personally would recommend a latchable 32 qt plastic sweater box with air holes. Snakes are super addicting and you will be wanting more snakes and a rack before you know it.

I used exo terras for the first year for my snakes and they seemed happy in them. They are now in 3 foot long vivs as the exo terras were getting a bit small and they seem to have adjusted to the size well. My exo terras were 18" x 18" x 24", though the height wasn't really necessary as they didn't climb. I wouldn't house a corn in them for any longer than their first year though.

Sorry to disagree with you Joel, iv used Exo-terra for over 5 years and never had a problem with them. But each to his own.

Well I'll meet half way with you there, They are good for certain species of snakes, but corn snakes i would advise not to use them....but like you said ''each to its own''

as for the size issues with the exo terras you guys are having, hagen has come out with the same front opening exo terra tanks, in a size 36x18x18. that's 3 feet by 1.5 feet by 1.5 feet.

however, they JUST came out, so expect to wait a little while before you find them in stores/online. i'm not even certain there are any online stores that sell exo terra, but even if there are, still expect a wait.

but for the record, the 36x18x18 exo terras are BEAUTIFUL and i'm currently waiting for mine to arrive!

Very cool!
I think they could be fine for about a year in there...that is pretty expensive, but looks cool...
A small gecko or small species chameleon might fare better in there.

It looks like it would be difficult to have a warm and cool end?
Can you put a UTH under it?

You can put a UTH under it. They are difficult to regulate as anything made out of glass. Humidity is the worst to control though .

I always liked the looks of an Exo Terra tank however in england they are rather expensive compared to normal vivs so i got a viv. In America the prices may work out better tho but if you want one than get one they look well worth the buy.
