Most of the pics came out like this though, because Vel HAD to see what I was doing, sniff the camera and check if I had any carrots for her!

Apart from being beautiful, she's in great condition, Meg! What class will you be showing in? (And please update with pictures of the show!)

Thanks Janine!!!

I will be showing her inhand in "Broodmare and potential broodmare 16hh and under but bigger than 15hh" and the "Show Riding horse" class. She still gets super excited at shows so not expecting much from her in the ridden class but its great exposure for her anyway.

My friend who owns the andalusians and arabs has a plan to get me showing the smaller mares under saddle in a year or so! Because my friend who's his groom is a terrific rider but will look underhorsed, I'm their project simply because I'm small! I'm not sure if we'll be showing in-hand the mares with foals at foot this summer, but I hope so. As well as my formal lessons I'm being taught proper grooming and show preparation, I've only just finally solved the mystery of dealing with all the straps on the blinking rugs they wear!

She's very nice, Meg! I had a horse named Velvet many years ago. Good luck in your class, and yes, please post some photos.

Kathy
