one single egg from a six year old...

Chip

ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒ&
Five weeks ago I had a female lay 14 heathy eggs. I got her on the usual weight-gain feeding regimen, felt her to ascertain she was finished laying, but began to worry a little because her post-laying shed was so late. She finally turned opaque, and yesterday shed. And laid one single egg! Almost five weeks to the day of her clutch!
Did I:
A) escape egg-binding by miracle
B) have an early, unproductive second clutch from stored sperm
C) she got gravid again (unfertilized) but one didn't re-absorb
or
D) I give up, you tell me!
