Speedy wee fuzzballs with too many legs!

It's Jager time!
I got 7 new T's today :dancer:

6 are Avicularia sp "Peru purple" and boy were they fun to unpack... not. For someone who is terrified of spidies, having to get a super speedy tiny T into it's pot without it escaping or running all over me was a nightmare. It took me an hour to unpack the 6 slings. They are absolutly gorgeous though :)

Appologies for the picture quality, I had to take them through the plastic pots. I wasn't taking any chances lol

Hello new mum, I iz waiting to speed all over you!

Here is number 7. It's a juvie Brachypelma smithi - Mexican red knee. Pretty gorgeous but I didn't know it had a baldy bum... grrr. It's a good size though, about 2in so hopefully after a good few meals it should moult and get the hair back.

Elle... you crack me up! Afraid of spiders, and you buy more.

Personally, I'm petrified of good looking Scottish women who are great photographers. Wanna come visit?

Boy, I would hate to buy shoes for them.

They are beautiful, Elle. What made you get them?

I can't wait till they get their little pink toes! I bought them because I have really enjoyed my other 3 T's, and I wanted a colourful fluffy arboreal. The brachy was a spur of the moment thing, it's actually a ploy to make my partner get T's too LOL! He really likes the looks of smithi.

I know I know, I'm sick and twisted... But obviously you love that LOL

Awesome looking spiders Elle, they're pretty cool. I like spiders and if I see one I'll pick it up. People think I'm really weird, I'm not scared of spiders or snakes. :grin01:

Do you think you'll ever get over that fear? Were you ever afraid of snakes?

All the best

David

How??

Ok. I too am fearfull of spiders, but have tossed around the idea of getting a "T" just for something different. Heres my questions. If your afraid of them, how do you clean their cages/pots? How do you put their food in with them, without them escaping?? if they do escape what do you do? (i cant see running and screaming doing much for the situation...) How do you deal with their molts? they look just like em...only not so alive...

I am over the fear of giant spiders. I have never had a problem with big furry spidies. It's just the little unpredictable ones I really dislike. But I am very comfortable with the spiders I have at the moment :)

Erm ok :) I want sanzinia too but if I buy you one I am keeping it at mine LOL

I can cope with my own spiders very well :) Im not scared of them, just a little nervous at times. I manage to feed, clean, handle etc with no issues whatsoever. I had a moult recently and managed to fetch that from the lassies burrow so that was a bit tricky but it's great to see them doing well in my care :)

If they escaped I think I would die... yeah....

Oh come on, you've not lived until you've chased a 2" arboreal across black carpet:) Nice additions, I need another pink toe.

Poor quality photos my butt! Those are some great photos. *I need a macro lens too :(* Those are some beautiful babies. I am still trying to convince work to give me the T they have there (before they kill it with bad husbandry).

Yay, cute fuzzy arboreals! I failed with mine, got an A. versicolor, but unfortuneitly he/she didn't make it out of its first moult with me. I think it was completely my fault, as I picked up the container, THEN realized he/she was flat on its back. I'm pretty sure the movement threw the moult off. I'll probably try again some day, but I guess I need to do a bit more research about taking care of slings first.

We have two T's, a red knee and a bloodleg. We tried with a pink toe once, but it had it's sexual maturity molt (male) and died shortly thereafter. We kept it, though, and plan to put it under glass. Our Brachypelmas are doing great. We like the desert species better. And I like getting them when they are already an inch or more in size. I hate crickets and pinheads get everywhere! No itty bitty speedy fuzzies here! LOL

Spidies...I too am a scaredy-cat when it comes to them. I'm ok throwing in food now and again but I always managed to get someone else to do them in the shop. The girl im moving in with after summer is thinking about a T...I mean, I'm bringing snakies and such to the flat and I'm OK with looking at it...just don't ask me to touch. Hopefully this will be her first escapade into the exotic world....muahahahahaha...
Nice spiders though, I can appreciate their beauty...and those ones certainly have that! I especially like baldy bum...a bit of character goes a long way...lol.
