Heater on the side of the tank?

I have to put my heater on the side of the tank because I don't have anything to prop up the tank with.
It's been fine so far and I make sure it doesn't get to hot.
And he never goes right up against it. I plan on getting an UTH asap.
But until then is this fine?

Do you mean you stuck on of those "glue one" UTH pads to the side of the cage? That should be fine except that you are losing MOST of the heat. it's just radiating up. Check the inside temps of the cage 1 and 6 inches from the heat...and make sure it is warm enough IN the cage where the snake hangs out.

Yeah.
On the side with the heater it's about 84 F*.
And when I put my hand in the tank I can tell theres a difference in the temps on both sides.

Thank you. =]
