Snake Dave
Schrödinger's cat
Hey everyone
As some of you may know, I made the trip to Hamm in Germany this weekend to visit my first reptile show: Terraristika. It was really good. Basically, this entire weekend has been spent travelling, be it by car, train, foot, plane... I had 4 hours sleep on Friday, because I had to get up at 4 AM on Saturday morning to make it in time for the show. Oh and I had to get up at 6:30 AM today, which wasn't too bad. But my Dad kept me awake with his incessant snoring... We stayed overnight in Hamm on the Saturday, and we went to a Chinese restaurant for dinner. We also checked out a local supermarket, and I'm not kidding, about half the store was dedicated to sausages and cold meat :grin01:
The show was great though, outside of the Zentralhallen there were loads of stalls, selling huge glass vivariums, thousands of beautiful live plants, lianas, pieces and tubes of cork bark the size of a house... Oh and they also had an obnoxious ice-cream man, always a great addition to any event.
The show took place in three main halls, one of which was outside (in a huge tent). It was absolutely packed for about 2 hours, then it started to die down a little. I had some fun handling a few creatures (got one picture of that below), including a boa, a tarantula, and a Burm.
The only thing I bought was a good ol' Cornsnake t-shirt from an American vendor. :grin01:
Anyway, enough yammering, here are the pictures, enjoy.
All the best
David
