Into The Wild: Saddest Movie!

I have never seen it but it sounds like a good movie. I think that is one of the books we have to read over the summer for school. Maybe I will watch the movie while I am reading the book.

I've seen it, but I can't say I have the same sentiments. I won't say more than that because I don't want to spoil the movie for you since it touched you.

I saw it when it first came out. It was kind of sad. I also read the book. It kind of turned me off of doing that sort of thing though. I used to want to do exactly what he did. But not so much anymore.

Just happened to have watched the movie last night. Quite honestly, I was a bit disappointed in the way it was presented. I had the assumption that it would be more of a Jack London surviving in the wild type movie. Turns out that was a very small portion of the movie. (Hope that's not a spoiler but instead warns others who think/thought the same) Good story. Proves the point that one small mistake in the wild will kill you (Hope that's not a spoiler as I personally felt the mood of the whole story foreshadowed that).

Sad yes, but also real life.

is that the one where the guy gets eaten by a bear?
Nope, that's the Bear Diaries or something or other . . . that's a tragic story, but honestly, what was the expected outcome of that whole fiasco? :eek1:

Grizzley Man is the bear movie. I liked that too. I think in both cases, many people would say they deserved what they got. I see them as two sort of innocent people, naive in terms of nature. Good people at heart that hurt their families/friends by doing what they wanted. It's their lives, though.

I think even without the one small mistake, he was a goner.

When the book was written, and there was the article in Outside- I'm sure everyone remembers the end of the story from that, or at least that he died. I would think most who see the film are familiar with the circumstances. It's nice that his family cooperated so much.
