THINKING ABOUT CANON POWERSHOT S5 IS...

Noe..gr

EY TAPAZEIN
I think it's time for me to get a new camera.
I have read a lot about SLR and other cameras and leaning towards the opinion that SLRs at too much for my skills and budget.
I want an easy to use camera to take some decent pics of my babies and maybe some close ups.
From my search I have found the Canon Powershot S5 IS to be pretty close to what I need, but I don't know much about cameras,so I need your advice and experiences.

Thanks in advance! :)

I don't have the S5, but do have an S2 that I bought because Lore got such great shots with hers. I did not... and she even went through the menu with me so that mine was set up exactly like hers. I think the vaulted ceilings in my place have something to do with it though... I think the lighting gets lost up there :)

You can buy adapters and different lenses for the camera and its not a strict PnS... you can make some adjustments. I think if you don't want to go the DSLR route, it would be a great choice based on what Lore was able to do with her S2.

I was thinking that a DSLR won't make me take better photos since I don't have such skills and experience.I think they are a lot more complicated than the S5.

Since I like to make a step at a time and have a limited budget the S5 sounds like a good idea to start with.Heck,I can even play with its settings in time.

Yeah,I have seen Lore's pics. They are great!Didn't know they were made with an S2.That info adds a bit to my thoughts!

Thanks! :)

Yup, I asked before I got my S2... her pictures convinced me to go that route, but as I said, my pictures were never as good as Lore's even on the same settings.... I'm still laying blame on the vaulted ceilings in here :)
