Today I had found a great find at a pet shop. There was a Banana Blizzard Leopard Gecko on sale for 89.99! Thats pretty cheap around here (They also had APTOR for 224$, and RAPTOR for 332$, I had an extra tank and heat pad at my house so I went for the impulse buy. I checked her (definitly her) out, and she seemed perfectly fine, fat tail, all toes, good belly. Id assume shes a sub adult maybe as her body isnt as thick or long as my adult females. Anyways she was very very sleepy and her eyes strangely were closed. Anyways this is were I had started to worry...
Shes in her new Tank, and kind of walking around with her eyes closed occasionaly opening them. Anyways I tried to feed her crickets.. but nothing, just let them walk right by her! Im really getting nervous now, Shes a good 32 grams and youll definitly see for her size she isnt underweight. So I took heil nathese pics and put her back into her enclosure then I closed the light. All of the sudden a cricket walks by her and she nailed it! Shes hunting right now, alert and eyes wide open. Its as if she was too sensitive to the light, I find this so strange as my other two adults are always out and about doing whatever whenever. I heard a rumour somewhere that blizzards had weaker genetics, But I didnt think they were light-sensitive! Then again maybe its just moving into a new place and such, or maybe they didnt have her conditions right in the shop, she seems to have just adjusted within minutes! Anyways here she is:
So there she is! Currently living in a 20 gal, paper towel substrate, two norm hides on each side, a humid hide, coke cap of calcium, and a small water dish...Another thing I cant help but notice that there seems there might beomething weird with her mouth as you may see in some of the pics I hope its nothing though..Another side not is that her yellow colouring on the sides didnt show up at all in these pics.
