I noticed last night that Lila's warm side was reading 91F. Ok, I thought, maybe the setting on the thermostat got jostled when I got the new fridge Saturday, which required a couple moves of the cupboard Lila lives on. It's the only non-Herpstat I still have, a BAH 1000, which up till now has been reliable. I turned it down and waited for the temp to fall to 85, then turned it back up to where it came on, then just a titch back down. This morning, I had a temp of 88F, with a high of 90. The high-lows had a huge range- 84 for the low, 90 for the high. I turned it down again, and left for work.
I guess I could test the mat with another thermostat, except the probes are all glued down in the vivs they are controlling.
Does anyone think it's more likely the stat is failing, or the mat? Up till now, that stat has always held the temp steadily, even though it's an off/on type. Like one degree of swing, not six or more.
