does anyone have any ideas on how far a corn can see?how much of the world outside his viv is in his field of vision? im in the process of building a new enclosure for mine and im wondering... will he feel more secure with only one panel of glass opposed to 4 full view walls? if anyone has seen a difference in behavior after changing them from environment to the other im interested to hear some replies.

also, if im over-analyzing things again someone give it to me straight:)

Mine has definitely reacted to sudden movements atleast 6 feet away from her viv. The room she is in isn't large enough to note anything from much farther away.

also on sort of the same note, what seems to be their reaction to noise? i think maybe this thread should be in behaviour, but i would also like to take these things into consideration for creating his environment. does everyone else love their snake(s) as much as i love mine?;):)

Snakes can't really hear, but they are sensitive to vibrations through their lower jaw. In the wild they can often sense large animals (like humans) trodding towards them and be somewhere else by the time it gets there. Loud, bass-y music will definitely get a reaction out of a snake. An occasional thump or bump is probably nothing to worry about.

Honestly, most snakes are "ambush" hunters, and feel better in a more secure environment. I don't use glass vivs, because they are too open for my taste (and I have an 11 in 1 rack, and not out of space hehe). I would say your snake should feel more comfortable, but it might also get more territorial? I have heard of reactions like that... Its all good once you get them out of their cage though. I would use the 1 glass window method and let us know what you see.

Ps. I hope I didn't offend anyone that uses glass vivs, I have no objection, I just prefer to go a different route, and I know a lot of you use glass. No hard feelings!
