I just bought a heating pad for my snake and its an exo terra heating pad. I took it out and was gonna set it up and I realized there is nothing to turn the heating pad temp. up or down..I was wondering if anyone else has boughten this brand and if they had bad or good experiences with it? (its just temporary until i buy a bigger viv for my snake) and a second question I bought some substrate too and its just a small bag of repti bark..I had very limited options at my local pet store. The only other substrate they had was cyprus and it had a picture of a corn snake on the front but on the back under what animals to use it with it said nothing about any sort of snake lol anyway just wondering about past experiences with either of these new things i got. thanks!

hi, i cant help you with the heating pad cause i might tell you wrong and i would not want to do that:) . now for the reptil bark thats what i use for my corn snakes. most people prefear this or aspen bedding. or for something cheaper you can use paper towels but that does not make the cage look as good. i hopw this well help you some.

To the best of my knowledge, none of the UTHs have temperature contols built in. they simply come on and stay on. You must buy a thermostat to regulate the heat.

Repti-Bark will work just fine. I use it for most of my smaller corns. It is easy to clean, can be used for a long period, and looks good. I wouldn't recommend using cyprus mulch for corns. It is normally used for snakes that require high humidity, such as boas. Corns can have adverse health issues with high humidity. I use cyprus for a Brazilian Rainbow Boa, and the humidity is 80-85%.
