Heat off at night? Ummm

Hello guys, I got a Royal python book, now I know books go in and out of date quite often, but in the book it says that snakes should have there heat turned off at night, so that they don't over-heat, and it creates a more natural environment because temps get cold at night..

Does anyone actually turn there mats off at night here?

I have no plans to do this, because the mats dont take up much electric anyways, I'm just curious about it..

I don't, and in my time being here I've never heard of turning mats off. Also, remember that that's for royal pythons, not corns.

Are you asking only BP owners to say if they turn their mats off?

I don't JorJ , I also don't think there a reason to , you could set the stat down 3 degrees for something

I suppose it depends where in the world you are and what the ambient temps are.

In the UK I'd think a BP or Corn would need some kind of artificial heat all year round, but there are probably many areas of the US where they'd be fine with just the natural temp of the region.

I think some folks here do have a night-time gradient for their Corns, and drop the temps a few degrees overnight.
