For all you morph experts out there. It is most likely very obvious but there are so many shades of normal I am not a 100% sure. I picked him up as an adoption from Petco. They said he is about 2 years old and his owners couldnt' have him any more.

He hasn't eaten for me yet which worries me....I offered him frozen/thawed 2 weeks in a row and he refused so I left it with him over night and he refused so I offered him a live one and he refused. I have had him for 4 weeks. He seems to be in fine health otherwise and is ALWAYS out zooming around his tank. any suggestions?
 
Is his belly plain or checkered?

If it is a male, he could be on a spring fast, which is quite normal for males at this time of year, as they have lurve on their minds :)
 
his belly is white and checkered from his head to about mid way down his length then gets less checkered and turns orange.... never seen that before.
 
It's quite normal to get some colour bleed into the belly scales, if he's got a black and white/orange checkered belly, then I think I would say he's a very nice normal/classic :) The picture is not the best but he could even be a hypo :shrugs:

Better pics, in better lighting will probably get you some more educated opinions :)

yeah....I was worried about the picture quality. I had a very pinkish flouresent bulb on him to get some pics and that didn't help any. lol

It isn't too far off of his color though. he is really a deep orangy red. I'll go with plain old normal then! thanks for the info guys!
 
It is a sign of maturity when their underside becomes orange. The checkerboard also becomes lighter, fading into the orange. It's perfectly normal and common, see Oscar here:
