Successful Transition!

I placed my first order with The Mouse Factory last week and it arrived yesterday. Last night was feeding night so the timing was perfect. I bought some rat fuzzies in hopes of transitioning my ball python from live mice to frozen rats.

I was expecting him to turn his nose in protest, so after thawing and warming up the rat fuzzy, I cut some slits in the back and also in the head (which was not easy for me).... he was facing me when I opened the container so I held the fuzzy (face first) just in front of him (using kitchen tongs). He was definitely interested, but patiently observing... I moved the fuzzy a little, but not too much (trying to mimic the movement of the live mice)... then the fuzzy slipped from my tongs and before it had a chance to hit the bottom of the container my BP grabbed it and coiled! I was soooo happy! Now I'm just hoping this was one of many successful f/t feeds to come for him.

My new corn wasn't impressed by the pinkie she got (but it was a bit soon to expect her to eat), however, my lab/beagle mix dog sure enjoyed the pinkie!
