Can someone take a picture of their shedbox and put it up here? I made two of them but I am not sure if they are what they should be.

Thanks,
Sam

wow thanks nanci! I searched for stuff about shed boxes but couldn't find what I was looking for. I just made two shed boxes with papertowels but it is aparent now that I made them the wrong way. I will go out and get spaghnum moss, can I get it at any petstore?

Thanks,
Sam

you should be able to, i use flukers all natural but i just read something about green dye, i havent had any problems with it but if you can find something else i guess use that. Petsmart i know has about 4 different kinds of moss to choose from.

You should also be able to find Sphagnum moss in most garden centres :)
Here in the states, Lowe's has some little mini-bales of it that work great. As per Susan's recommendations of past, it's in the orchid section. It's clean and long fiber as opposed to dirty and short fiber.

I use sphagnum moss and give it a good "sterilization" in a vegetable steamer.

I bought some at my local garden center and noticed a warming on the bag stating to wash your hands after handling to reduce the risk of a fungal infection.

Once she is done with her shed I will throw out the moss and clean her moist hide box with soap and hot water.

Regards,
Steve
