Hi,
I'm trying to buy one off of craiglists....but I'm not sure what a reasonable amount to pay for a basic, all-glass, 30-gallon long aquarium is?

Also, will I need a heat lamp?
 
When I buy off craigslist, I pay 1$ per gallon maximum, you can find them cheaper though, so I wouldn't pay more than 30$ for just a 30 gal.tank. After I build my rack ( in progress, I will sell for same) You probably still need to get a screened lid and clamps to lock it down.
If you are keeping a cornsnake you don't want a heat lamp, you want a UTH ( Under the Tank Heater). good luck
 
Yesterday I got a 20L tank for $5, including screen lid. Found at a garage sale. This is the least amount I've ever paid. The other used tanks I've found for different amounts from $15 on up to $25. I agree with the other poster. I wouldn't pay more than $30, but if you can get it for less, then go for it.
 
by the way, although the heat lamp is not necessary, i would still recommend getting one just so you can control the temp in the viv easier. :)
 
I paid $50 for this set up. minus the sprite box and bedding.
