How to wire the flexwatt in a rack?

I want to build a 4-5 shelf high melamine rack in the next month or two for some corns. I will be using 15 quart sterilite tubs with the lock things on them. I was thinking about putting flexwatt down the back but not sure how. Would it be better to wire the flexwatt as belly heat and if so how? Anyone have any diagrams or anything? I got a johnsons thermostat.

Depends upon room temperature, size of tub and size of FlexWatt.

Generally, 6qt & 15qt racks run 11" strips down the back. Anything larger 4" or 11" (again, depending upon room temperature and size of tub) is run underneath tubs.

I would rather run strips down the back if i can. It seems easier that way. Would i need to cover the whole back or just half? Where should i put the thermostat probe if i done it that way?

The back will need enclosed if you are using back heat, and you will need to use 11" flexwatt. Thermostat probe gets placed on the flexwatt, no matter if it's back or belly heat.

Not to hijack the thread, but your advice is becoming very helpful to me as well, as I am also about to begin building my first sort-of rack system. What's considered to be safe to enclose flexwatt in? I was personally thinking that I wanted to do ceramic tiles on the back, but haven't quite figured out what to put between the flexwatt and the tiles.
I'm glad to see someone who is planning so well before they build their rack.

Wood is fine for FlexWatt to sit on as long as it's not sandwiched in. I personally would not enclose FlexWatt 100% at all. I had a friend build me 3 custom cages and he sandwiched the FlexWatt beneath the cages for belly heat and the FlexWatt has since backfired and nearly caused a fire. I'll take pictures of the two of the three cages that this happened with so you can see. I have a blackened hole in my cages now.

Tape the probe down with foil tape just as you would the FlexWatt.
