I see alot of talking about gram this and gram that. What are you guys using to weigh your snakes/mice and what technique are you using? I assume you weigh a container, then put the snake in the container and subtract the difference.
I use a kitchen scale that weighs in grams, and yes you can weigh the container, then add the snake and subtract the difference. Or, if you place the container on the weighing scale before turning it on, then turn it on, then add the snake you get the weight of the snake straight away
I use a digital kitchen scale, and before I turn it on I put a container on it, then put the snake in and finished
Just make sure you get a good scale, I used to have one that got all the weights wrong (and since I also use it in the kitchen, imagine what it did when I tried to bake a cake )
I bought mine at a store specialized in kitchen stuff for about 50 euro's.
If you go to the kitchen department of any large store, you may even be able to get one cheaper than that and it will probably weigh heavier items (more than 600g) Plus you may want to take into account the weight of the container you weigh the snake in, as that will add to the overall weight if it won't zero out once the container is on there.
My scale weighs up to 3 kilograms (3,000 grams) which is plenty big enough for any age corn. I think one that weighs up to just 500 to 600 grams, may not be enough in a few years time, I know my oldest male, 4 years, will top one of those scales out, he's approx 650g now and still growing
It does, thanks susielea, I know I can get either of those 2 for ~$15 including S/H, and the local Walmart only supplies 1 digital scale in its kitchen area, a $30 dollar one, ill keep looking online for a cheaper equivilant
