Not overlong ago (some of you may remember) I had gotten a male/female pair of Puget Sound Garters (aka "Cool Blues").
After a bit, I noticed that the female looked to be getting "big", was gaining weight at a fast rate and was not being overfed. I wondered if she may be gravid. After a bit, she grew "bigger round" and I checked her ... I could feel lumps, in her belly, and figured she ~had~ to be gravid. Meanwhile, the gal grew just a little more round and started to look like a deflating tire (bottom/sides pushing outward). Today, she is having babies!!
So far, she has had four cute "little ones" and I am waiting to see if she will have more.
I am so thrilled!
Following are photos of babies that have been born so far. Have included a pic of the proud mama. She is more of the aqua blue color (my male, who I am fairly certain is not the sire, is more "true blue"). The babies have not had their first shed, yet, as they were just born a short bit ago. As they age, they will gain more of their blue coloring.
